Hot on the heels of ‘Tonight’s The Night’, his debut for Strictly featuring Jody Watley, ‘Truth sees’ Mark de Clive-Lowe continue to redefine house music with soul; or maybe that should be soul music with house. Teaming up with the highly touted US singer/songwriter Sy Smith, MdCL turns out a taut, sophisticated groove that rolls up a little of the ‘70s and a little of the ‘80s in a wrap of the all new ‘10s, Smith providing a vocal of a quality rarely seen in house. Variations come from Bertrand’s slightly more 4/4 anchored rubs and Seiji’s renegade West London flavoured angles.
