Wamdue Project’s King Of My Castle is Strictly Rhythm’s most out and out pop record and a Europe-wide crossover hit, reaching the UK charts top spot in November 1999. Given that pedigree, Nicola Fasano and Steve Forest aren’t about to try to turn it back into a cool underground cookie, and they duly deliver an energetic big room Saturday night mix bursting with commercial, Frenchified flavours. Also included from the vintage releases are the essential Roy Malone Kings Mix, Roger Sanchez’s remix and the little known Original album version, a sublime mid-tempo groove more easily connected to producer Chris Brann.
